Little Texas Stars

Our daughter Jenna began attending Little Texas Stars when she was just around 2 years old. Recently they held their graduation ceremony for the pre K class. This center started off as an in home preschool called "Brenda's Schoolhouse". Just like our business, it took many baby steps & slowly outgrew the house it was in. Moving from Hudson Oaks to their new location on Azle Hwy also brought them a new name. We didn't mind this transition a bit because we knew our child was still in the same great care as before...just in a new (closer) location. Not just a daycare, this Christian based learning pre-school has been a great place for Jenna to learn about the bible & interact with other kids. We're so glad we found this place! Unfortunately in public schools God has to be left at the front door & not mentioned inside. Sad...
The graduation ceremony took place at the Texas Star Ranch on 920.

Jenna saying her bible verse.

Never a dull moment when you get a group of 4 & 5 year olds together.

We love Ms. Traci.

We will miss being a part of Little Texas Stars pre-school but look forward to the next stage as Jenna will make her entrance into Crockett elementary. Watch out!

Slow Motion Videos

YouTube is a galaxy of endless random videos. Not sure how I ended up finding this collection of slow motion clips but they are cool & some very funny.

More Leaf Blower Fun.

Jenna Turns 5

Today our little girl turns 5 years old. It seems like just yesterday we brought her home from the hospital. Five years younger than her brother, all I could think was how much she looked like he did when he was born. A little clone. Here are some of my favorite pics from her birthday shoot. Happy Birthday Jenna!

The Edits #35

Continuing with my "The Edits" series... Here were a few of my favorite images from this past weekends Casey James homecoming. I've been so busy trying to catch up on real work but I was able to get just a few images edited with effects etc.

Added contrast to to enhance detail & added a little glow.

Added vintage edge overlay & a little sepia tone.

Original

Cleaned up distractions that took away from the subject.

Added aged overlay with contrast.

Added contrast to enhance the color in overall image. Also added wispy white border.

Toned down crowd & left Casey mostly color to put more focus on him.

Added an aged overlay tone.

I liked the boot shot but it had the chair wheel in the background.

Removed the wheel & blurred.

The next 3 images are just different color/contrast variations.

Casey Came Home

Millsap's Bulldog Stadium was standing room only for fans to catch a brief appearance by American Idol finalist Casey James. Casey & Idol crews made their rounds in the DFW area Friday & finally rolled into Parker County this morning to a sea of cheering fans. It was like one big class reunion looking into the crowd. I want to thank Millsap for allowing me to cover the event. I'm working on getting all the images up on "Casey James Homecoming" Face Book page. Find it to see everything!

Casey's Homecoming

My feet hit the floor at 3:30 Friday morning & by 4:45 I was on one of the 3 buses bound for
The-Big-D to welcome Millsap alum Casey James to the Fox 4 News station. MISD allowed me to tag along with them Friday & document this exciting event for the kids. Teacher Mrs. Aaron told me that she didn't know how strict Fox would be about having a photographer present. To my surprise they allowed me to cover every angle & get anywhere I needed to. Thanks to Mrs. Aaron for letting me cover it for you guys. I couldn't possibly get photos of everyone there, but I covered as much as I could. It really was cool to be able to document this for the you all.

I decided the best way to share them with the students (& everyone) was to create a page on FaceBook. The Casey James Homecoming FB page is where you will find all of the images I've taken plus some from Lisa Hester as well. Tons of Millsap & random fans are there including many good shots of Casey at Fox 4 in Dallas. It's very seldom that I get to take photos for fun...& this was fun.... Even though I earn my living using my camera I wanted to cover these events to share them with everyone, you're welcome to use any of the images anywhere, a photo credit is all I ask (www.feltsphotography.com) Other than that, they are yours! I have enjoyed covering this crazy experience for the community (& me too). I have a new respect for photo journalist who race around to get that next best shot.

At first many of us were a little disappointed that Idol would have him out in DFW all day instead of visiting Millsap/Cool. After seeing the media & fan frenzy I realized this was the best thing to do. All of the exposure on TV & with the fans will help him get votes this week. Tons of people showed up at all his events yesterday.

Millsap will welcome Casey back this morning for an appearance at Bulldog Stadium.
