Gavin Finley

Gavin is the 12 year old son a high school buddy of mine. Even at such a young age, Gavin has acquired a musical gift & has learned to play the guitar by ear. He performed his first acoustic set of covers at Denton's 'The Hydrant Cafe' this past week & I knew I couldn't miss it. Before the show started, I snapped a few of Gavin around the historic courthouse, which reminds be a lot of the square in Granbury.

Gavin made his entrance into the second floor of 'The Hydrant" to see standing room only with family, friends & random music lovers. Between strumming & belting out his favorite singer/songwriter tunes, he added just enough comedy to keep the crowd entertained during the show.

Playing & singing isn't just a hobby to Gavin. Just by seeing the amount of passion he has for music, I have a good feeling that this kid will go onto great things. I will be able to say I was there way back when.......

The Picky Wife

a funny email I received....

I just don't understand my wife. She's

always nagging me to keep things around

the house fixed up..........

I replaced the broken door latch on her car.

I installed new faucets in the kitchen sink.

I fixed the sagging kitchen cabinets.

I replaced the rotten steps by the front door.

She wanted a Porta-Potty" for when we went camping.

I fixed everything she wanted.......
And still, she isn't happy....!

Mineral Wells Engagement Session

Last week I met Caitlin & Ryan in Mineral Wells where I shot their engagement session. The couple had a few locations in mind so we made our way around to the various stops. The Baker Hotel is in the heart of this small town & is hopefully going to be once again a booming site for the town. But for now it makes a great place to get some nice urban shots for a not-so-traditional setting. Even though you can't go inside the hotel, the lower balcony & exterior make for some unique angles.

Another stop was the former Ram's stadium where the two met. They sported their opposing college colors which added a fun touch to this location.

Finally we headed to the family home for a more western feel. I never know what to expect when I'm asked to shoot at someones house. Will there be enough shade, back drops etc... I was relieved to find many great locations at this family ranch.
