Discovering A New Passion

After graduating from TSTC in Waco in 1997, we started our portrait photography business. Since that time I only focused on capturing images with people in them. Very rarely would I venture out and take photos of landscapes, still life etc.

About a year ago I started using the iPhone app Instagram and realized what I missing.  Thinking outside the box and taking photos of everyday things is so relaxing and yet challenging. That was something I was missing in my field, the fun hobby aspect of it. (I'm not saying I don't like my job)

In May another local Instagrammer and I teamed up to organize the first area Instagram photo walk.  Joy and I work great together because of the very similar ideas that we have for the walk.  That's a pretty crucial element in organizing a successful walk.

On the 26th of this month we will host our 7th Fort Worth Photo Walk (FWPW).  Most of the walks actually take place in Fort Worth, but we like to venture out to other cities. Joy has been trying to convince me to do a walk here in Weatherford for months. Many of our attendees are near the Dallas area, so I was concerned that few would show up. Hopefully well attract more locals, who wouldn't normally drive out to Ft. Worth. Needless to say I'm very excited about showing off our historic downtown area.

Some folks are noticing how well our walks are going, due to the large turnout. We were recently asked to   to elaborate on what makes our walks successful by another Instagrammer who writes an informative blog on various IG topics.
