The Good Life

Three years ago this week the biggest news around here was when Hollywood descended onto North Texas. Fort Worth blues musician Casey James sang/played his way into the top 3 spot on Fox's hit TV show

American Idol.  A hometown tour & performances were in the works so that local fans could congratulate Casey for making it to the finals.  Like other locals did, I photographed many of the stops that Casey made while on his quick trip back to Texas. We created a Face Book page to share all the fan photo taken during this time. See Here   It was awesome to see the excitement and support everyone showed for Casey.   It was a blast and definitely not something we see everyday in Parker County.

It was just a short time after the show ended that Casey signed a major deal with Sony Nashville.     James' self-titled debut CD was released on March 20, 2012 on 19 Recordings/BNA Records. James co-wrote nine of the CD's eleven tracks with some of the biggest songwriters in Nashville and co-produced the CD with Chris Lindsey.

playing shows all over the U.S.  He's opened shows for big names  like Sugarland, Alan Jackson and this Summer will warm up the crowd on Taylor Swift's 'Red' tour.  An entirely different demographic will get the chance to see what Casey James is all about.  Talk about good exposure! Be sure to not miss the next local show at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens on June 28th.  

On a personal note, I'm excited to say that in the very near future I'll have the opportunity to join Casey and the guys on the road for a few concert dates. I've been asked to provide performance photography of the guys for their marketing purposes as well as to build my portfolio.  I've always been fascinated with the music industry, so it's going to be awesome to get an all access perspective of a country artist on tour.  It's such an honor to be asked to tag along & it's going to be a nice change of pace for me.  I'm not sure on the specifics at this time but I'll keep ya posted.  For the latest news on this, be sure to "Like" our Face Book page.

So, just like the title of Casey's current single, I'd say he's definitely livin 'The Good Life' for sure!
