Michael Jackson
Unless you live in a cave I'm sure you know that 50 year old music legend Michael Jackson died yesterday. Fans have gathered at Jackson's star on the Walk of Fame to honor the former child prodigy who became one of the best-selling pop artists of all time.
His music was the soundtrack of my childhood as I think back to the 80's. I'm now 31 years old, and he is to my generation what Elvis was to my parent's. Those who are in their early 20's and younger don't know the Michael Jackson I know. They just saw tabloid headlines that painted him as a strange looking has-been that descended into a strange and reclusive lifestyle with accusations of child molestation. Jackson's reputation as a singer and dancer was overshadowed in recent years by his increasingly abnormal appearance and bizarre lifestyle.
Jackson dominated the charts in the 1980s and was one of the most successful entertainers of all time, with a lifetime sales tally estimated at 750 million records, 13 Grammy Awards and several theatrical music videos.
"Michael was and will remain one of the greatest entertainers that ever lived," said Motown Records founder Berry Gordy, Jackson's first label boss. "He was exceptional, artistic and original. He gave the world his heart and soul through his music."
Enough said!
Here is a popular video of Michael singing Billie Jean for the first time in public. It was also the first time the showed us is signature dance move......the moonwalk.
A few years later Jackson released the album Bad.
Dirty Diana had more of a rock edge compared to his previous releases.
In the early 90's Black or White was released from the Dangerous album.
I remember vividly how we huddled around the TV in my grandmothers kitchen watching this video on MTV at Christmas. The way they morphed into different people in the end was awesome. It was also obvious that this 1992 Michael was looked quite different than the 1984 Michael in the Thriller video. Talk about morphing.....

But Don't Get Crazy
Have you ever seen a store clerk act like it was such a bother to do their job? This is one of my favorite MadTV skits.
I found this Bon Qui Qui Parody.

Father's Day
Today I had a great Father's Day complete with burgers, homemade ice cream, swimming & best of all family. I'm so blessed to have such a great family to spend Father's Day with. This morning while on my way to pickup some last minute items at the store I passed by the cemetery. I noticed many people out visiting & putting out fresh flowers for I assume their deceased fathers. It made me feel so lucky to still have our father. For those who visit our website, you may have heard a song on there by Keith Urban. The song is called "Song For Dad" which was on an older album of his. I like this song so much because it talks about how when we get older we start to become just like our parents. How everything he does is for us even though we didn't think so at the time. The older I get I realize this & how our dads can be taken from us in a blink of an eye.
Here's the song I found on YouTube.
We Got Video
I finally figured out how to post videos in our blog. I enjoy surfing through YouTube trying to find funny, interesting & informative videos. I will try to post videos between my picture posts. Check back often to see what I can dig up.

We Went Back To The Future
Last night we took the kids to Weatherford's "movie in the park" at Cherry Park. It was a great way to spend the evening with the kids under the stars. The weather was good & we had a little breeze. The movie featured last night was the 1985 comedy "Back To The Future". The feeling you get when you see a movie from your childhood is great. It's a good movie but I didn't remember how much bad language it had in to. I cringed every time that SOB... sh** etc. was said in front of our kids. I'm all about random fact these days so I thought it would be fun to share some about the movie.
- Was the top grossing release of 1985.
- The device originally considered for use as the time travel machine was a refrigerator. Director Robert Zemeckis said in an interview that the idea was scrapped because he and Steven Spielberg did not want children to start climbing into refrigerators and getting trapped inside.
- Michael J. Fox was allowed by the producer of "Family Ties" (1982) to film this movie on the condition that he kept his full schedule on the TV show - meaning no write-outs or missing episodes - and filmed the (majority) of the movie at night.
- C. Thomas Howell was considered to play the role of Marty McFly.
- In the French version, when Marty wakes up in 1955 in his young mother's bed, she calls him Pierre Cardin instead of Calvin Klein. In the Spanish and Italian versions, she calls him Levi Strauss.
- John Lithgow and Jeff Goldblum were considered for the role of Doc Brown.

More Illusions
The Color Quiz
Look at the chart and say the color, not the word.
Your right brain tried to say the color,
but your left brain was reading the word.
Realistic Dice Illusion
As you look at these dice, try to determine if they are standing up, or laying flat.
Albert Einstein Marilyn Monroe Illusion
When you look at this picture close range you see Albert Einstein.
Now stand up and take several steps back, roughly 15 feet away,
It will become... Marilyn Monroe.
(You can also squint so that you can barely see & it looks like Marilyn)

John Lenon Illusion
If you think that this image is nothing then you are wrong, because this image contains a photo of John Lenon who was a 20th-century English songwriter, singer and instrumentalist who gained worldwide fame as one of the founders of the Beatles.
If you want to see him just close your eyes slowly (not fully) or go a bit far from your monitor and you will see him getting appeared.

Tywanna & Mark
I met Tywanna in 1993 when I was only 16 years old. We both sacked groceries at Winn Dixie. We have kept in contact through the years & we've used her father Jeff Brazell as our DJ at several family events through the years. Mark & Tywanna were married on May 23rd, our little girls 4th birthday. I'm sure I will always remember their anniversary. It was great to work with The Jones' & I'm was glad they allowed me to document their special day.
